The Joy Project
The Joy Project was the first Think Tank project completed with the teams that we, the students, chose ourselves. We were asked to choose a subject to conduct extensive research on, and then we would need to present a self-made video and prezi to the class. Most research was done on the Internet and read in books. This assignment was important to me because it provided logical answers to the reasoning of why multiple people tend to not have true joy instead of pseudo-joy. It made me think about what I do in my life to make myself happy and how I can change other people's days just by spreading my own joy. I learned that everything I do affects other people, and that joy is not found in material items; joy is found in the heart.
The Bully Project
The Bully Project was the second completed Think Tank project done in Contemporary Themes. We were asked to create a Prezi and homemade video about why bullying is bad, dangerous, and wrong, and then present our findings to our own class and underclassmen from our school. This assignment was important because as students, we tend to notice bullying among groups, and the bully project helped us learn how to prevent the bullying in the first place. It was also important because it helped us develop presentation skills. This assignment made me realize that bullying is a bigger problem than I ever thought it would be, and that it needs to be prevented and intervened with. I now realize that children are actually missing school due to bullying, and that no matter what, a school should always be a safe place for a child. Bullying is a crime that needs to be stopped, and the Bully Project connects all events to each other.
