Essay Writing Style
This Statistics assignment was to measure the amount of letters we used in a word when we wrote essays. First we had to find our sources for our essays, which would be the essays we wrote in various classes for senior year. Then, we used an online source to organize the data for us, in which it found the amount of words we used and the amount of letters found in each word. Finally, in groups of four, we compared our findings and made box plots to show a visual of how everyones data varies. This assignment was important because it showed me how big or small my words were in my essays, and whether I need to improve my vocabulary or not.
Fairy Tale Project
Unfortunately, my teacher did not have my group's storybook in the classroom, but my group wrote an alternate story of Little Red Riding Hood by the Grimm Brothers. In the book, we needed to weave statistics and probability into the story, yet stay close to the original plot (we had to end with a happy non-gruesome ending though). I felt that this was one of the most interesting projects we carried out in Statistics, and the story was fun to write. I already had a love of fairy tales and story writing before this project, so to be able to write an alternate version of a classic beloved tale was pure perfection. This was also important since writing the story gave me a better grasp of the kind of math we were being taught in class.
